These were my Pop Pop's sunglasses.
I saw the case sitting in the console of his car the last time we got to hang out and asked about it. It had to have some history behind it. I hadn't really paid attention at the time but it was the case to the shades he'd been wearing all day. Some old Ray Bans that he bought used from a guy for $20 back in 1945. The gold frames are so thin, I don't know how in the world he'd never broken them in the 65 years he wore them. The lenses have one small crack in them, but they're glass, unlike the plastic shit they make today. Since I admired them so much, he told me I could have them when he passed away. Didn't expect that to be less than a month later. I've since worn them a few times, but I'm too scared I'll drop them and either break em or lose them so I just keep em in a safe place instead. I could probably write a whole story or get deep on the significance here, but I'll just leave it as that.
